Who is eligible?

• Individuals
• Partnerships
• Corporations

• Complete the application on a form provided by the Commission.
• File the application with the Commission not later than the first day of May in the crop year, unless the Commission extends the date.
• If land with an insurable grain, grain corn, or oilseed crop is purchased after May 1, file an application for the balance of that crop year without obtaining an extension date.

• If the application is accepted, the Commission issues a certificate of agricultural insurance.
• The Commission may revise an insured acreage report, adjust the premium, and notify the insured in writing; if no agreement is reached or the report is not filed properly, it may terminate the contract and refund premiums as provided.
• After a Notice of Loss is filed, the Commission may appraise production and loss and then notify the insured in writing of its decision to pay or refuse an indemnity.
• If the insured disagrees with the decision, a Notice of Dispute may be filed within 30 calendar days, after which the Commission reviews the decision and issues a final decision in writing.
• If the final decision is still disputed, an Application for Arbitration may be served within 90 calendar days of receipt of the final decision after Proof of Loss requirements are met, and indemnity is payable within 30 calendar days of acceptance of the offer or an Arbitrator's ruling.
