Who is eligible?
- Property owners with year-round residential rental properties in New Brunswick.
- Private individuals, for-profit companies, registered non-profit organizations, owners of eligible care homes, corporate housing organizations, affordable housing organizations, and government organizations.
Who is not eligible
- Renters cannot apply directly.
Eligible expenses
- Energy-efficient products, materials, and equipment used to upgrade residential rental properties.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Used or rebuilt equipment.
- Purchases made or work started before Pre-Approval has been granted.
- Eligible upgrade material purchased, contracted for, or installed before Pre-Approval confirmation.

Selection criteria
- Incentives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to Program budget.
- NB Power may exclude proposed energy-saving projects or Measures based on Program staff’s sole judgement.
How to apply
- Complete the online registration form.
- Review the Program Guidelines, choose eligible upgrades, obtain quotes, and submit the completed Pre-Approval Form with the quotes by email or through the secure document upload site.
- After official pre-approval is received by email, begin the approved work.
- After all approved upgrades are completed and paid, submit the incentive claim documentation.
Processing and Agreement
- The program team contacts applicants after online registration regarding eligibility and next steps.
- NB Power may carry out a site visit prior to issuing preapproval and/or prior to accepting an Incentive claim.
- Payment is authorized after successful implementation and operation of the project’s eligible measures and review and approval of back-up documents.
- Incentives are typically transferred electronically within five weeks of the Project receiving final approval.
- If a completed Direct Deposit Enrolment Form is not received when the incentive is processed, a cheque is issued to the mailing address on record.

- SaveEnergyNB programs are delivered by NB Power with funding support from the Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick.
- NB Power may request proof of ownership at its discretion.
- Participants must obtain and maintain all required permits, licenses, and certificates of approval for the work.
