Who is eligible?

  • Organizations serving Sixties Scoop Survivors, their families, and descendants

  • First Nations led by Chief and Councils
  • Tribal Councils and Indigenous Representative Organizations
  • Provincial Territorial Organizations
  • Métis, First Nations, and Inuit settlement organizations

Eligible expenses

  • Honoraria, salaries, and professional fees directly tied to the project
  • Project-related gifts, prizes, or awards
  • Necessary capital expenses such as technology and equipment
  • Project administration costs up to 15%

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Capital infrastructure projects such as new construction, renovation, expansion, or vehicle purchases
  • Debt retirement and mortgage pay-downs
  • Expenses not necessary to deliver the project or program
  • Costs incurred before August 1, 2026 or after July 31, 2027

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed first by an evaluation committee
  • Eligible applications with favourable scores are forwarded to the Programs Committee and then to the Board of Directors for final decision
  • All applicants are notified of the decision by email
  • Successful applicants must sign a grant agreement before receiving payment
  • An interim report is required before the second payment is released
