How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the proposal
    • Complete the project proposal form.
    • Prepare the Risk Assessment Information Template and supporting information.
    • Assemble the budget, work plan, and partnership details.
  • Step 2: Submit through the provincial or territorial government
    • Send the proposal to the appropriate provincial or territorial department or ministry.
    • Use the relevant Public Safety Canada regional office if needed for guidance.
  • Step 3: Wait for review and decision
    • The proposal is screened, assessed, and ranked.
    • Successful applicants are asked to sign a contribution agreement before starting.

  • Applications are screened for eligibility and required information.
  • Proposals that pass screening are assessed by a committee.
  • Projects are scored and ranked against others in the same stream.
  • The Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness makes the final approval decision.
