Who is eligible?

• RN or NP registrants in good standing of the NL College of Nurses
• Members of the Newfoundland & Labrador Registered Nurses' Education & Research Trust

Who is not eligible

• Applicants who are not Registered Nurses
• Applicants without pediatric nursing experience
• Applicants who received a Trust award in the past 2 years

• Registration or tuition fees
• Travel and accommodation costs
• Exam fees

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Applications submitted late
• Applications for CE events outside the accepted timeframe

• Financial need, based on funding from other sources
• Preference will be given to applications from current practicing members

• Step 1: Choose the correct application stream
  • Use the non-credit continuing education application form for conferences, workshops, and certification programs.
  • Use the academic application form for BN, MN, or PhD programs.
• Step 2: Prepare supporting documents
  • Obtain the required reference.
  • Collect enrolment, transcript, and other supporting documents if applying for an academic program.
  • Review the application requirements before starting.
• Step 3: Complete and submit the application
  • Submit the online application form.
  • Mail supporting documentation to Newfoundland & Labrador Registered Nurses' Education and Research Trust, c/o NL College of Nurses, 1033 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 5E9.
  • Late applications are not considered.

• Applications are reviewed after the deadline and ranked by the Awards Committee.
• Decisions are issued by email in early to mid-May for spring and mid- to late November for fall.
• If approved, reimbursement is paid after required proof of expenses and attendance or completion is submitted.
• If funding is later fully covered by other sources, the applicant must notify the Trust and return the Trust funds.

• Only one bursary is awarded each year.
• Applicants are notified by email.
• Late applications are not considered.
• If spring applications are insufficient, decisions may be deferred to the fall competition.
