How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the application form
    • Use the program application form.
    • Prepare the request in English, French, or an Indigenous language.
  • Step 2: Choose a submission method
    • Send the application by email or mail.
    • Or submit orally through a recorded interview on Zoom, Skype, or a similar platform.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Email the completed application to NCTRCommemoration@umanitoba.ca, or mail it to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation in Winnipeg.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission.
  • A committee of Indigenous Elders and Residential School Survivors assesses applications.
  • Processing takes a minimum of three months, or 8 to 12 weeks in the current review period.
  • Funds are issued after approval.
