Financing terms and conditions
The Music PEI Microgrants offer straightforward financing modalities to support emerging artists in Prince Edward Island. These modalities focus on accessibility and timely financial support.
- Microgrants fund all eligible expenses up to a maximum of $300.
- Successful applicants receive 100% of eligible expenses for the approved budget within thirty days of submitting a signed Letter of Acceptance/Investment Agreement.
- If the project changes significantly, applicants must inform the Program Officer to reallocate funds; failure to do so may require returning the funding.
- A Completion Report must be submitted within sixty days of project completion, along with copies of expense receipts to ensure proper financial accountability.

Eligibility
Eligibility for the Music PEI Microgrant Program is determined by the residency and application history of the artist or group.
- Applicants must currently be residents of Prince Edward Island (PEI), with the primary artist and/or the majority of the group having a permanent address in PEI.
- Applicants must have been residents of PEI for at least six months prior to the application.
- Artists are not eligible to apply after two successful Microgrant Program applications or after receiving funding under the Emerging Music, Export Development, or Career Investment Programs.

To qualify as a resident for the Microgrant Program, the primary artist or the majority of the group must have a permanent address in PEI and must have resided in PEI for at least six months prior to applying. Additionally, artists are ineligible to apply for or receive Microgrant Program funding after two successful applications or after receiving funding from the Emerging Music, Export Development, or Career Investment Programs. - Career Growth/Logical Next Steps (30%): Clarity and articulation of project goals and the attention to detail in completing the application.
- Evaluation of Submitted Creative Content (30%): Judgment of the distinctiveness and excellence of creative content including lyrics, recordings, videos, and promotional materials.
- Presentation/Participation (15%): Participation in recommended consultation sessions with Music PEI and overall understanding of the grant process by the applicant.
