  • Seasonal rental operators

Eligible expenses

  • Professional studies, plans, drawings, analyses, and assessments
  • Facade repair and restoration works
  • Building and property improvement works
  • Rental residential unit renovation or construction costs
  • Planning, development, building, heritage, and sign permit fees

  • Retroactive work started before approval
  • Studies done only for purchase or sale due diligence
  • Short-term rental units

How to apply

  • Read the Community Improvement Plan in its entirety.
  • Contact the Planning department by calling 705-738-3800 ext. 234 or by emailing development@trentlakes.ca to discuss your interest in the program and arrange a Pre-Consultation Meeting.
  • If you are not the property owner, have the owner fill out the authorization form.
  • Complete the application form and upload the required supporting documents.
  • Submit the application.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by staff against program requirements.
  • Staff make a recommendation to Council or Council’s designate.
  • Approval is required before the grant is issued.
  • Some programs require a grant agreement with the Municipality.
  • Applicants may appeal a refusal by Council’s designate to Council.

  • Applications must be submitted after speaking with the Planning Department.
  • Program applications may be combined, subject to program rules.
  • The Municipality may require a grant agreement for approval.
