Eligible expenses

  • Exterior and interior painting, lighting, siding removal or replacement, brick or stone repointing and restoration
  • Storefront redesign, signage, awnings, windows, doors, and masonry or stone work
  • Interior renovations that improve floors, appearance, or building functionality
  • Accessibility-related and architectural feature improvements

  • Roof repairs or roof replacements
  • New building construction or additions
  • Landscaping
  • Temporary structures

Eligible geographic areas

  • Community Improvement Plan Project Areas (CIPA) A-2, A-3, and A-4 in South Bruce

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by a committee on a monthly basis.
  • The first intake gives priority to vacant building owners in the CIPA areas.
  • Projects must receive approval before starting work.
  • If approved, the project must be completed by December 7, 2026 and a completion form must be submitted with photos and paid invoices.
  • Applications must be complete before they are considered submitted.

Additional information

  • Applications are reviewed monthly by a committee.
  • Priority is given to vacant building owners in the first intake period.
  • Only one application per business per fiscal year is allowed.
  • The program may be stackable with the Spruce the Bruce program if project expenditures are significant.
