Activities funded

- For companies with 25 employees or more, a copy of the francization certificate or proof of steps taken with the OQLF

- Companies controlled directly or indirectly by a government, a municipal entity or a crown corporation
- Companies ineligible for public contracts
- Companies under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
Eligible expenses
- Salaries, wages and social benefits
- Student scholarships
- Materials, consumables and supplies
- Equipment purchase or rental; travel and stay; knowledge dissemination; intellectual property operating costs; professional fees; subcontracting
- Monetary compensations for participation in projects and CRITM management fees
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Fees related to the release of college or university teachers for project activities, unless the institution confirms by letter the real cost of the release period
- Travel and stay costs of foreign researchers
- Equipment usage fees of the institution, for the calculation of FIR
Selection criteria
- Degree of innovation of the product or process
- Partners’ capacity to complete the project, including their engagement and financial involvement
- Quality of the research team and the public-private partnership
- Expected technological, SST and commercial benefits for the partner companies
- Training of students and highly qualified personnel, plus other economic and social benefits for Quebec
How to apply
- Submit the mandatory letter of intent by 2 October 2026
- If selected, complete the funding request using the forms sent by CRITM
- Submit the complete application by 20 November 2026 at 23:59
Processing and Agreement
- A committee studies the letter of intent and checks the potential admissibility of the co-applicants and the project
- Selected applicants then complete the funding request using the forms sent by CRITM
- Conforming project files are evaluated by an independent selection committee
- The CRITM Board of Directors may adopt the project based on the committee’s recommendations
- A research agreement covering intellectual property and research results must be signed within 3 months of official ministerial confirmation and before any CRITM payment
