Who is eligible?
- Structured organizations with a status compliant with Part III of the Companies Act for not-for-profit organizations (NPOs)
Eligible expenses
- Purchase of materials: culverts, wood, hardware, royalties on sand and gravel
- Rental of heavy machinery and transport truck, including the operator
- Rental of specific equipment required to carry out the work
- Contracts for carrying out the work by licensed contractors
- Professional fees for bridge work or flow calculation for sizing culverts, as well as costs inherent in permit, authorization and royalty applications
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Projects requiring, after completion, recurring operating services or expenses, such as waste container services, snow removal services, or the annual contribution toward paying for a road maintenance contract
- Costs for bank stabilization, revegetation, and rehabilitation
- Expenses associated with lodging and meals, travel expenses, the use of personal equipment, and fuel

- State lands
Selection criteria
- Priority to main roads serving more than 40 vacation leases, as well as bridges and culverts greater than 8 feet in diameter.
- Priority to secondary roads providing access to leased lands.
- Priority to roads providing access to a public boat launch.
- Priority to wildlife projects and recreational amenities, except ORV trails.
- The MRC favors projects with the highest financial contribution from the promoter and takes volunteer participation into account when it reduces project costs.
How to apply
- Submit the request to the MRC de Mékinac before the 30 April of each year.
- Submit the project on the financial assistance application form provided for that purpose.
- Attach a resolution from the applying organization's board of directors as well as a copy of the organization's letters patent.
- Add a description of the project and a map location of the work to be carried out, with photos of the site.
- Provide itemized quotes for the cost of the work, at least two.
- Include a description of the required materials; for a bridge, attach a copy of the flow calculation or a professional inspection report.
Processing and Agreement
- Eligible projects are reviewed by a prioritization committee according to the available envelope and the priorities established.
- The committee's recommendation is submitted to the MRC council for approval.
- It is the MRC resolution that confirms the assistance granted.
- After the final report is submitted, the MRC reviews the report before proceeding with payment of the financial assistance.
- In some cases, payment may be made after inspection of the work completed.

- Projects on municipalized territory must be recommended by the municipality concerned.
