How to apply
- First contact SHQ inspector Robert Mathieu by phone or email to determine eligibility and find out which documents must be provided.
- Then have the building visited by the accredited inspector, who will draw up the list of eligible work in a specification.
- Based on this specification, obtain one or more bids from contractors holding an appropriate licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, then submit to the municipality the bid of the contractor who will carry out the work.
- The RCM completes the file and, if everything is in order, issues a certificate of eligibility indicating the amount to which the owner will be entitled at the end of the work and authorizing the start of the work.
- Once the work is completed, the accredited inspector verifies that it complies with the specification and reports to the RCM.
