- Companies operating in the cannabis or tobacco industries.
- Businesses whose main activity is the sale of alcohol or gambling products.
- Companies not located in Alberta.
- Individuals with Indian Status (Status individuals) must apply through different programs and are not eligible for this grant.

How to apply
- Step 1: Obtain and Complete the Application Form
- Download the MEAP (Métis Entrepreneurs’ Assistance Program) application form.
- Fill out the form completely, ensuring all fields are addressed.
- If completing by hand, print legibly.
- Sign the final sheet of the application form.
- Step 2: Prepare Supporting Documents
- Copy of your Métis identification card.
- Proof of cash equity (such as a bank statement).
- Resume.
- Proof of business opportunity.
- If incorporated, include a copy of your Incorporation documents.
- If applying as an expanding business, provide financial statements for the past three years.
- If there is more than one owner, ensure each owner submits a completed application.
