Who is eligible?
- MCIC member agencies.
- Manitoba not-for-profit community-based organizations, for the Community Solidarity Fund.
- Affiliate or non-member organizations, for the Community Solidarity Fund.
Who is not eligible
- Organizations that are not MCIC members, where membership is required.
- Organizations that do not meet CRA charity or special-status requirements for the Community Solidarity Fund.
- Projects aimed at promoting religion or a political viewpoint.
Eligible expenses
- Overseas project costs.
- Local partner administration costs, up to 10% of the allocation.
- Canadian expenses covered by the applicant’s matching funds, not by MGMGP funds.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Canadian-based project activities or components funded by MGMGP.
- Projects with an objective of spreading a particular religious faith.
- Projects with an objective of promoting a political point of view.
- In-kind contributions as matching funds.

- ODA-eligible countries on the OECD DAC list.

- Strength of the project design and expected outcomes.
- Fit with the relevant fund stream or theme.

- Ability to demonstrate monitoring, reporting, and sustainability.
How to apply
- Step 1: Review the funding guide and application forms

- Step 2: Prepare the application package
- Complete the application form in Word or PDF format.
- Prepare the project budget and supporting information requested in the form.
- Step 3: Submit by email
- Send the completed application by email to MCIC.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first checked by MCIC staff for eligibility and completeness.
- Eligible applications are reviewed by MCIC’s Overseas Project Committee.
- Final funding decisions are made by MCIC’s Board of Directors.
- Applicants are notified of the decision, and some approvals may include recommendations, conditions, or follow-up reporting.
