Who is eligible?
- Both formal and informal neighbourhood-based community groups in Kitchener are eligible to apply.
Who is not eligible
- Any person, including any individual, body, business, or entity, that hosts, arranges, contributes to or promotes Conversion Practices.

Selection criteria
- Preference will be given to groups who demonstrate in their application that they have gone above the minimum engagement requirements.
- Preference will be given to projects that provide more opportunities for residents based on their age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, generation, language, region and socio-economic status.
- with at least one grant per year being awarded to projects in each of the city’s 10 wards, provided qualified applications exist.
How to apply
- Review the grant criteria listed below.
- Submit your application online beginning early February 2025.
- Email and mail proposals are also accepted.
Processing and Agreement
- The LoveMyHood Matching Grant Selection Committee will review applications during three review periods.
- Groups will be notified of the outcome of their application as soon as possible, but typically within 4 to 6 weeks of the intake date.
- City staff will determine the next steps to make approved projects a reality.
- Applicants should keep track of receipts and be prepared to provide a final report once the project is complete.
Additional information
- A written agreement or letter of understanding is required for funded projects.
- Applicants should be prepared to submit a final financial report and evaluation form after completion.
- The City may fund larger projects in installments at its discretion.
- Remaining funds or uncompleted project funds must be returned.
