Who is eligible?

How to apply

  • Step 1: Check benefits and income
    • Make sure you are receiving all benefits you may be eligible for.
    • Gather information about all sources of income.
  • Step 2: Request forms from the home
    • Tell your long-term care home that you intend to apply.
    • Get the application form(s) and help if needed.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Complete the form and attach the required supporting documents.
    • Submit everything to your long-term care home.
  • Step 4: Re-apply every year
    • Submit a new application each year to keep the reduced rate.

  • The home submits the completed application to the ministry.
  • The application is processed by the ministry.
  • The applicant receives a rate statement letter after processing.

  • The program runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
