Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Parents aged 16 to 17 who have not completed high school and are Ontario Works participants or part of a benefit unit receiving Ontario Works financial assistance.
- Parents aged 18 to 25 who have not completed high school and are Ontario Works participants or part of a benefit unit receiving Ontario Works financial assistance.
- Parents aged 16 to 25 who receive Ontario Works financial assistance only for their child(ren).

- Child care.
- Transportation.
- School supplies and school clothing.
- Educational trips and graduation fees.
- Tutoring, counseling, and recreational activities.

Processing and Agreement
- Participants are assigned an Individual Service Plan that sets out their LEAP activities.
- Staff monitor progress through frequent contact, usually monthly or more often if needed.
- Participants who complete the requirements receive the bursary and must provide written acknowledgement and a written undertaking.
- Participants nearing graduation develop a transition plan for education or employment.

- A written undertaking must confirm the bursary will be used for the specified purpose.
- Participants under 18 require a trustee.
- The ISP is an addendum to the Participation Agreement.
