2026 Grants Program Closed
The 2026 grants notice changed from Open to Closed, so applications are no longer being accepted. It now adds a Grant Announcement Event on September 17, 2026 and directs interested people to email grants@surreyhomeless.ca for an invitation. The page also no longer shows the previously listed submission deadline of July 24, 2026 or the funding decisions date of September 3, 2026.

- Fundraising activities, retroactive funding, conferences, or deficit funding
- Core operational/program funding, ongoing programming, or ongoing operational costs
- Services or facilities that are not in compliance with municipal licensing and zoning requirements
- Activities that are already funded/provided by another source
Eligible expenses
- Purchase of land; predevelopment/zoning/feasibility; development/construction
- Renovation or repurposing; equipment or furnishings; retention or maintenance
- Other capital activities or equipment/furnishings that may support the project come to fruition, leverage other funding/partnership opportunities or support the long-term sustainability of the project
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Fundraising activities, retroactive funding, conferences, or deficit funding
- Core operational/program funding
- Ongoing programming or ongoing operational costs
- Services or facilities that are not in compliance with municipal licensing and zoning requirements
- Activities that are already funded/provided by another source

- Preference is given to projects that support priority populations.
How to apply
- Submit the signed & completed Application Form in Word or PDF (e-signature is acceptable) and the completed Budget Form in Excel to vera.lefranc@surreyhomeless.ca.
- Provide other supporting documents if staff request them during the review period.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed against the program’s priorities, eligibility criteria, and other requirements.
- Staff may contact applicants for additional information during review.
- Funding decisions are made by the Surrey Homelessness & Housing Society Board of Directors.
- Applicants may be contacted after the decision for next steps.
