How to Apply for Grant Funding

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Organizations that aim to improve access to justice and legal knowledge in Prince Edward Island.
  • Not-for-profit organizations.
  • Registered charities.
  • Universities or colleges.
  • Other organizations, as described on the application form.

How to apply

  • Review WHAT WE FUND.
  • Download and thoroughly review all APPLICATION FORMS.
  • Determine the TYPES OF GRANT(S) you want to apply for and note the APPLICATION DEADLINES.
  • Review the application checklist ensuring it is complete.
  • Submit your application by email or mail.

Processing and Agreement

  • The Board of Governors reviews all applications and makes final funding decisions.
  • If the grant is approved, the funds must be used as specified in the application, or any variation approved in writing by the Foundation.
  • All material produced as a result of a grant from the Foundation must be provided without charge to the Law Foundation of Prince Edward Island.
  • The applicant must comply with the Foundation’s Recognition of Support policy.
  • The applicant must comply with all applicable legislation when carrying out the program or project, including federal and provincial Human Rights Acts and employment legislation.

Additional information

  • Micro-Grants requests can be sent directly to the Executive Director any time throughout the year and only require a brief project overview and requested amount.
  • You may apply for more than one project, but each must be submitted as a separate application.
  • The Board of Governors reviews all applications and makes final funding decisions.
  • The Law Foundation of PEI generally accepts grant applications twice a year during the month of April and the month of October.
