How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the application
- Complete the Application Summary (Appendix A).
- Fill in questions 1 to 17 in Appendix C.
- Attach the required budget form and supporting documents.
- Step 2: Format the submission
- Use letter-size paper only.
- Do not staple or bind any materials.
- Submit the documents as separate, labelled attachments.
- Step 3: Submit by email
- Email the electronic application to nslawfd@nslawfd.ca.
- Step 4: Send a paper copy
- Mail or courier one hard copy to Suite 1305, Cogswell Tower, 2000 Barrington Street, Halifax, NS B3J 3K1.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the Law Foundation Board at its winter meeting.
- Applicants may be asked to appear before the Board.
- Successful applicants must sign a letter agreeing to the grant terms before payment.
- Funding decisions are not guaranteed from year to year.
Additional information
- Priority may be given to one-time projects that address identified priority areas.
- Collaborative projects involving two or more partner organizations may receive weight.
- Projects with sustainable results beyond Foundation funding may be favored.
- Applicants may be required to appear before the board.
