Who is eligible?

• Individuals based in Newfoundland and Labrador
• Organizations based in Newfoundland and Labrador

Eligible expenses

• Project costs directly related to the approved law-related initiative.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Travel expenses, unless specifically authorized by the Board
• Use of funds for purposes not approved by the Foundation

Eligible geographic areas

• Newfoundland and Labrador

• Alignment with the Foundation’s statutory objects
• Benefit to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Creativity and innovation
• Availability of matching or alternative funding

• Step 1: Download the application form
  • Obtain the grant application form from the Foundation’s website.
• Step 2: Complete the application package
  • Fill in the Application Summary and attach all required supporting documents.
  • Prepare a separate application for each project or program.
• Step 3: Submit by email
  • Send the completed application to the Executive Director at lfnl@lawfoundationnl.com.

• Applications are reviewed by the Board of Governors.
• The Board may request an interview before making a decision.
• Applicants are notified through the Foundation’s decision process.
• Approved grants are subject to the stated terms and any additional Board conditions.

• Applicants may contact the Executive Director for guidance before applying.
• A separate application is required for each project or program.
• Applications submitted without all required documents may not be considered.
