Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Businesses whose business project falls within food service and beverage establishments and that offer their clientele seating for immediate on-site consumption
Who is not eligible
- Businesses operating a franchise belonging to a franchisor holding more than 5 establishments in Quebec
- Businesses carrying out activities of a controversial nature, including in the degrading sex industry, gambling, astrology, pawnbroking, or any activity harmful to the environment or local quality of life
- Businesses indebted to the State under tax laws
Eligible expenses
- New terrace: materials, design, plans, permits and expenses that add additional quality to the project for the integral elements of the terrace
- Existing terrace: materials, design, plans, permits and integral terrace components, such as pergolas, flower boxes integrated into the terrace structure and structures for hanging lights
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Salaries, delivery and transport costs, cleaning costs, storage costs, as well as plants, accessories and furniture that are not integrated into the terrace structure

Selection criteria
- Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis, after a minimum two-week promotion period, until funds are exhausted
- Impact of the financial assistance in implementing the project and impact of the terrace on the business's revenue
- Quality of the layout, including greenery, lighting, furniture and accessories
- Accessibility of the terrace, especially for people with reduced mobility and visibility from the street
- Potential customer traffic, especially opening time and number of seats

Processing and Agreement
- All applications are analyzed by an internal committee of PME MTL GSO
- Applications are evaluated after a promotion period of at least two weeks, on a first come, first served basis, until funds are exhausted
- The disbursement is made in a single payment, once the project is completed and the required documents have been validated and are compliant
- Once the application is accepted, the applicant must provide the terrace permit or transformation permits related to the project, supporting documents if applicable, as well as proof of payment of government remittances for the last quarter
