How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare Funding Proposal
    • Develop a comprehensive project description detailing the initiatives to promote, teach, develop, or preserve Inuktut.
    • Outline clear project objectives aligned with eligible funding categories, such as language training, revitalization, resources and media, planning, or awareness.
    • Draft a proposed budget including revenues and expenditures.
    • Create a timeline for the completion of the project.
  • Step 2: Submit Funding Proposal
    • Submit the completed funding proposal, including all required sections, to the Government of Nunavut Department of Culture and Heritage.
  • Step 3: Review and Evaluation
    • The Working Group reviews all received proposals during its annual meeting.
    • In special cases where quicker assessment is needed, the Manager may recommend approval or rejection to the Director of Official Languages, based on evaluation criteria and funding availability.

    • Receive official notification regarding the approval or rejection of your funding proposal.
  • Step 5: Sign Conditional Contribution Agreement
    • If successful, sign the Conditional Contribution Agreement outlining payment schedules and reporting obligations.
  • Step 6: Project Implementation and Reporting
    • Implement the project as outlined in the proposal.
    • Submit an achievement report detailing the benefits realized in comparison to the original proposal’s expectations, in accordance with policy reporting and audit requirements.
