How to apply

  • Step 1: Pre-consultation
    • Book a pre-consultation meeting with municipal staff.
    • Confirm the requirements for a complete application.
  • Step 2: Prepare application
    • Complete the online CIP application form.
    • Prepare the cover letter, estimates, plans, photos, and other supporting materials.
    • Provide owner authorization if the application is submitted by a tenant.
  • Step 3: Submit application
    • Submit the complete application to the Community Planning Department through the online portal.
    • Applications are accepted year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, starting in March 2026.
  • Step 4: Review and decision
    • Municipal staff review the application and supporting documents.
    • Applications are evaluated and staff recommend successful applicants to Council or its delegate.
  • Step 5: Agreement and payment
    • Approved applicants enter into a legal agreement with the Municipality.
    • After project completion and inspection, incentives are issued according to the agreement.

Processing and Agreement

  • Municipal staff review complete applications and evaluate them against the program criteria.
  • Review and approval may take one to three months.
  • Successful applicants are notified and must sign a legal agreement.
  • Completed work is inspected before incentives are issued.
  • Funding may be delayed, reduced, cancelled, or repaid if requirements are not met.

Additional information

  • No application fee is charged, but applicants cover their own application-related costs.
  • Applicants may combine this incentive with other government funding sources, if disclosed.
  • A legal agreement may be required and can be registered on the property title.
