How to apply

  • Step 1: Pre-consultation
    • Book an optional pre-consultation with Municipal staff.
    • Confirm the requirements for a complete application.
  • Step 2: Prepare application
    • Complete the application form.
    • Prepare the cover letter and supporting documents.
    • Gather estimates, drawings, photos, and any other requested materials.
  • Step 3: Submit application
    • Submit the complete application to the Community Planning Department through the online portal.
    • Provide any additional information requested by staff.
  • Step 4: Review and approval
    • Municipal staff review and evaluate the application.
    • Successful applicants are recommended for funding approval.
    • If approved, a legal agreement is prepared and executed.
  • Step 5: Project completion and payment
    • Complete the approved work.
    • Submit supporting invoices and a statement of completion where required.
    • The Municipality inspects the work and issues the incentive if approved.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by Municipal staff after they are deemed complete.
  • Review and approval may take one to three months.
  • Successful applicants are recommended to Council or its delegate.
  • Approved projects require a legal agreement with the Municipality.
  • Funding is issued after project completion and, where required, inspection and proof of costs.

Additional information

  • Applications are handled on a first-come, first-served basis for the Main Streets and Rural Economic Development programs.
  • A pre-consultation meeting with Municipal staff is available before applying.
  • Approved applicants must enter into a legal agreement with the Municipality.
  • Annual reporting may be required for projects involving affordable housing.
