Eligibility
- Operate a private business and own or occupy a non-residential building in La Pocatière.
- Project must increase municipal assessment by at least CAD 50,000.
- Project must comply with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- For franchise businesses, the work must be paid by the franchisee.
- At least 24 months must have passed since the last payment for a new application.

- Franchise businesses, if the work is paid by the franchisee.

- Residential properties.
- Private senior residences.
- Businesses relocating activities from another municipality.
- Applicants already receiving a tax-reduction government aid for the same property, unless linked to a recovery plan.

- Construction, expansion, and modernization work on the building.
- Leasehold improvements for occupied premises.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Projects that transfer activities from another municipality.
- Projects receiving tax-reduction government assistance, unless linked to a recovery plan.
- Expenses already reimbursed by the franchisor.

Selection criteria
- For Volet 1, projects are evaluated on the value of the work, business sector relevance, business development plan, and commercial area densification.
- For Volet 1, young entrepreneurs under 40 may receive bonus points.
- For Volet 2, additional aid may be tied to job creation, strategic priorities, visibility for the City, and community benefits.
How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the project
- Describe the nature of the activities.
- Define the project objective.
- Step 2: Submit the request to DELP
- Send the written project to the Director General of DELP.
- Step 3: Internal review
- Volet 1 projects are sent to an analysis committee.
- Volet 2 projects are assessed by the Director General using the program rules.
- Step 4: Council decision
- The recommendation is submitted to the municipal council.
- The applicant is informed of the approval or refusal.
Processing and Agreement
- DELP reviews the project and prepares a recommendation.
- The municipal council approves or refuses the request by resolution.
- The applicant is notified of the decision.
- If approved, work must start within 4 months of the acceptance notice.
- The aid is paid after the work is completed and the assessment certificate is provided.
Additional information
- Applications are reviewed by the municipal council after analysis by DELP.
- Priority may be given to the first complete applications submitted if available funds are insufficient.
- The same owner or occupant cannot combine this aid with certain relocation or revitalization programs chosen by the City.
- A separate evaluation grid applies to Volet 1 projects.
