Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Canadian postsecondary institutions
- Indigenous not-for-profit organizations
- Nordic research-performing organizations
- Researchers in the social sciences and humanities
Who is not eligible
- Students enrolled in a program of study.
- Applicants whose primary affiliation is with a non-Canadian institution for Stream 1.
- Projects that should be reviewed by NSERC or CIHR instead of SSHRC.
- Projects mainly focused on curriculum development.
Eligible expenses
- Student and non-student salaries or stipends.
- Consulting fees for professional and technical services.
- Travel and subsistence costs.
- Supplies, software, and office materials directly related to the project.
- Equipment or tools needed for the research.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Original research.
- Projects whose main goal is curriculum development.
- Remuneration of team members, except where Indigenous remuneration rules apply.
- Course release time.
