How to apply
- Submit the concept note using the online application form in English, French or Spanish no later than April 25, 2024 11:59 p.m. EDT.
- If shortlisted, submit the full proposal using the online application form no later than July 11, 2024 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Processing and Agreement
- Concept notes are reviewed by a review committee comprised of IDRC program staff using the published evaluation criteria.
- Shortlisted applications are invited to submit full proposals.
- Full proposals are reviewed for completeness by IDRC and then externally reviewed by the KIX Independent Assessment Panel, with at least two panel members assessing each proposal.
- IDRC carries out institutional and risk assessments and recommends a cohort of projects for approval by the KIX Executive Committee.
- Successful applicants may be asked to make changes, may need additional documentation or country approval, and enter a two-month inception phase after signing the grant agreement.

- Applications are accepted in English, French or Spanish.
- Submissions are subject to Canada’s Access to Information Act.
- Applicants consent to disclosure of submitted documents to external reviewers and, if selected, to disclosure of their name and project title in announcements.
- In submitting a concept note, applicants will be asked to agree to abide by GPE's Policy on protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, the IDRC Corporate Principles on Research Ethics, the IDRC Open Access Policy and the IDRC Open Data Statement of Principles.

The applicant must have independent legal status and the ability to contract in its own name, receive and administer funds, and direct project activities.
Concept notes may be submitted by one organization or by a consortium of up to three organizations.
