Who is eligible?
- B.C. First Nation Communities and First Nation Schools.
- B.C. schools that can provide reasonable evidence of classes with a majority of First Nation students that can benefit from this program.
Eligible expenses
- Materials, supplies, or equipment necessary to support the approved project, including books, technology, art supplies, and other learning resources.
- Facilitator fees and honorariums.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Tuition, fees, school-related costs, and curriculum-related costs generally covered by the Province or School Board.
- Existing administration costs and overhead costs.
- Capital expenditures not directly related to supporting the project.
- Existing staff wages or salaries.

Selection criteria
- NRT will use a lottery process to determine which eligible applications will be approved for funding.
- Selection will consider available funding, project capacity, and regional distribution.
How to apply
- Complete the online application on the NRT Grant Portal and create an NRT Portal Account.
- If you want a consultant or colleague to support the application, create the application first, then use the Collaborators tab to add or remove people.
Processing and Agreement
- Applicants will be notified of the funding decision following the lottery process.
- If an applicant does not respond or complete required next steps on time, NRT may run another lottery.
- After the project is completed, download and complete the brief final report template and send it to the contact listed on the form.
