Documents Needed

  • Original completed and digitally signed application form, signed by the duly authorized representative of the proposed project, as set out in section 3.2.
  • The proposal approved by STScI.
  • A plan of implementation in the form of a Gantt chart or table for all proposal types.
  • CVs for collaborators who submit proposals and for key team members, including principal investigators, co-principal investigators and co-investigators associated with Canadian institutions directly relevant to the CSA proposal.
  • For Category B proposals, a support letter from the principal investigator of the approved NASA/STScI JWST Cycle 5 proposal confirming the roles and responsibilities of the Canadian co-investigators.

How to apply

  • Open the SFiler portal login page and select the Extranet domain.
  • Enter the username and password provided by email, then click log in; do not enter the email address.
  • Under Inbox, find the communities for the proposals you have made for the different Avis d’offre de participation (AOP).
  • Select the community where you want to deposit documents, then drag the files from your file explorer into the center of the system.
  • If you have lost your password, use the password reset option and enter the email address associated with the account to receive a reset link.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first screened for eligibility.
  • Eligible proposals are evaluated against published criteria and scores.
  • A review panel makes the final funding selection.
  • Applicants are notified in writing, and selected projects are announced on the CSA website.
  • A grant agreement must be signed before funding is issued.
