Who is eligible?
- Qualified donees registered with Canada Revenue Agency, including registered charities, municipal governments, and indigenous governing bodies
- Not-for-profit organizations registered under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act
- Cooperatives registered with Corporations Canada under the Canada Cooperatives Act
- Community service groups or associations that have been in existence for more than one year and can demonstrate a capacity to manage and execute projects and/or programs that have a charitable purpose
Who is not eligible
- Individuals, or applications for individuals
- Organizations that include a CFCSN employee or their immediate family as part of senior administration
- Organizations that have not completed the terms of any previous grant(s) or have not submitted reports due for those previous grants
Eligible expenses
- Youth wages based on minimum wage
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Core operating costs, including wages, salaries, remuneration, stipends or like payments, except for the Job Opportunity for Youth Grant program
- Operating costs or core services that are directly or indirectly publicly funded, such as municipalities, hospitals, and school boards
- Existing and core programs and services; deficits or debts; capital building campaigns; and predictable repairs or replacements to buildings or equipment
- Fundraising activities or campaigns; sponsorships; endowment funds or annual drives; and activities serving primarily membership or the purposes of religious or political organizations
- Individuals or individual costs, advocacy initiatives, tours or travel outside of Northumberland County, expenses incurred prior to the community foundation awarding the grant, and similar projects or programs more than 3 times for a single organization

- Alderville First Nation, Alnwick/Haldimand Township, Hamilton Township, Municipality of Brighton, Municipality of Port Hope, Town of Cobourg, Township of Cramahe, and Municipality of Trent Hills
Selection criteria
- Demonstrate a capacity to take on the role of supporting and mentoring a youth participant
- Commit to providing the youth participant with meaningful, hands-on work experience
- Commit to teaching the youth participant career-readiness skills
How to apply
- Review the Grant Applicant Guide that pertains to the type of Grant you want to apply for
- New applicants must complete an Organization Profile Form as a first step in the application process
- New applicants, once deemed eligible to apply, will receive a Grant Program Request Form by email; previous applicants should complete the Grant Application Request Form
- Once the request form has been submitted, you will receive an email with a link to the online grant application form
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed and scored by our Grants Committee
- By March 30th, applicants will be notified through the Zoho platform if their application has been approved or denied
- Applicants approved for funding must review, sign and submit a Letter of Agreement confirming that they will abide by the Grant Terms and Conditions
- An interim report will be required half-way through the placement and must be submitted before the second installment is released
- No grant funding will be forwarded until after our Annual General Meeting and Grant Announcement Event is held in May
