This fund provides matching funding of up to $5,000 for innovative, community-based climate change projects in rural Nova Scotia. Eligible activities include climate change related initiatives that support adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable community development.

Eligibility

  • Applicant is a Nova Scotia resident with a direct connection to the rural community where the project takes place.
  • Project is climate change related and community-based in Nova Scotia.
  • Applicant is associated with a sponsoring organization that can receive funds and is a qualified donee able to issue official donation receipts (Canadian Income Tax purposes).
  • Applicant can secure local, community-based matching support.
  • Applicant can participate in required virtual convening sessions.

Who is eligible?

  • Nova Scotia residents leading climate change projects connected to a rural community.
  • Youth applicants (ages 13 to 25) connected to a rural Nova Scotia community.
  • Applicants working with a sponsoring qualified-donee organization able to receive funds.
