  • A panel of up to four Inuktut-speaking judges will review eligible entries and select the top ten best songs, including first, second, and third prize winners.

  • Step 1: Obtain Contest Guidelines
    • Access the Department of Culture and Heritage website or contact the department directly to get the contest guidelines, which include eligibility, entry guidelines, contest procedures, and evaluation criteria.
  • Step 2: Prepare Your Submission
    • Create an original song in Inuktut and record an audio version.
    • Prepare a lyric sheet typed in Inuktut, using either syllabics or roman orthography.
    • Gather entrant details, including full name, address, email address, and phone number.
    • If there are co-writers, ensure all co-writers sign a letter of agreement for the song entry.
  • Step 3: Submit Your Entry
    • Submit the audio recording and the lyric sheet, along with the required entrant information and, if applicable, the signed co-writer agreement, to the Department of Culture and Heritage.
