Who is eligible?
- Canadian SMEs
- Participating Canadian SMEs registered as NRC IRAP clients
Who is not eligible
- Individuals or organizations currently affiliated with a named research organization, or receiving funding or in-kind support from such an organization

Selection criteria
- Priority may be given to SMEs that have at least 15 full-time equivalents in Canada
- Priority may be given to SMEs whose project reaches a technology readiness level of at least 7
- Priority may be given to SMEs with prior experience in technology testing or demonstration projects in the country
- Priority may be given to SMEs that have commercialized at least one product nationally or internationally
- Priority may be given to SMEs whose annual revenue is greater than 500 000 $ CAD
How to apply
- Register online and complete the electronic registration form
- Submit a statement of interest containing basic information about the company and the collaborative project
- Submit a full project proposal with the foreign partner when the company is invited to do so
Processing and Agreement
- Registrations are reviewed by NRC IRAP and additional information may be requested
- Applications deemed eligible proceed to the next step and are invited to submit a statement of interest
- Statements of interest are assessed as they are received
- Eligible SMEs receive the required templates and are invited to submit a project proposal with their foreign partner
Additional information
- Companies working with U.S. partners must demonstrate how the proposed project or selected partner opens a direct path toward diversifying international markets beyond the United States.
- Any current contractual sales or supply agreement must remain separate from the activities proposed under the project.
