Eligible expenses
- Research personnel costs, including PI and Co-PI salary support within the program limits
- Reagents, supplies, and equipment for the research project
- Indirect or overhead costs up to the allowed limit
- Transportation for the PI and one trainee to attend the Innovations Symposium

Processing and Agreement
- Letters of Inquiry are reviewed first, and applicants are notified of LOI status at the end of December.
- Selected applicants are invited to submit a full proposal.
- Full proposals are then reviewed before awards are announced.
- If recommended for funding, nonprofit institutions outside the United States must complete an Equivalency Determination process before the award is issued.
