Who is eligible?
- Community groups.
- Registered not-for-profit organizations.
- Registered charities (qualified donee).
- Community accepted and elected First Nations (bands), Métis, and Inuit Councils.

- Individuals.

- Non-Indigenous-led organizations.
- Organizations or groups based outside of Canada.
- The Government of Canada (federal government), provincial and territorial governments, the Crown, and the United Nations.
Eligible expenses
- Elder honorarium.
- Wages and employment-related costs for existing or additional staff, fees for professional service, and disability supports for staff of the recipient.
- Materials and supplies; printing and communication.
- Travel costs including mileage, utilities, insurance, rental of premises, and lease, purchase, and maintenance of equipment.
- Performance monitoring and reporting costs; data collection; knowledge development activities.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Expenses incurred more than three months before the date of notification of approval of the application and the project start date.
- Purchase of real property (land or building).
- Expenses incurred more than 18 months after the project start date.
- Expenses that are covered by another funding source.
How to apply
- Submit your application through the online Application Form.
- If you cannot submit online, contact info@iprfund.ca before March 28, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET for support with an online written response, video, handwritten response, or phone call.
- Send the completed application to info@iprfund.ca and keep a copy for your records.
Processing and Agreement
- If approved, reporting requirements will be detailed in the agreement.
- For most projects, project funding is confirmed by a Letter of Agreement, and the work should be carried out within 18 months.
- A final report will be due within 6 weeks of project completion.
