Who is eligible?
- Indigenous-led organizations in Canada
- Indigenous governments and organizations (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis), including bands, tribal councils, self-governing Indigenous entities, and representative organizations
- Incorporated Indigenous non-profit organizations
- Incorporated for-profit corporations under Indigenous control, when the work carried out under the transfer agreement is non-profit activities
- Unincorporated organizations under Indigenous control
Eligible expenses
- Staff salaries and benefits
- Travel, accommodation, meals, and incidental expenses, in accordance with the National Joint Council Travel Directive
- Meeting and conference room rental or lease, consultants including legal advisers, and professional fees for facilitation, note-taking, interpretation, disability supports, or other meeting and engagement services
- Translation services, volunteer participation costs and program incentives, Elder and Knowledge Keeper honoraria or ceremonies, and publication of recommendations or reports
- Office equipment, including computer rental and other net capital assets, supplies and materials, postage, stationery, mailing and printing, licenses, administration costs up to 15% of the total project or activity cost, and evaluation costs

- Purchase of buildings, land, vehicles, and other major capital costs
- Retroactive funding for costs incurred before the official start date of a project or activity
- Ongoing operational funding
