Eligibility
- The applicant must be Indigenous-led, supporting First Nations (status and non-status), Métis, or Inuit participation.
- The project must focus on building Indigenous capacity in genomics, including training and career development.
- The proposal must integrate Indigenous knowledge systems, values, and perspectives.
- The application must be submitted through Genome Canada’s Proposal Central Portal via a regional Genome Centre.

Selection criteria
- Contribution to building Indigenous capacity in genomics.
- Support for Indigenous career development and transition into independent research roles.

- Promotion of Indigenous self-determination in genomics research.
- Clarity and suitability of the management plan, project leadership, and oversight.

- Receive notification of funding decision in October 2025
- Successful projects begin January 1, 2026

- Co-funding is encouraged, though not mandatory for this program.
- No more than two projects will be selected for funding through this program.
