Selection criteria
- Ability to serve a large number of rights-holding communities or members in regions where major projects are anticipated.
- Indication of community or member support for the applicant or delivery approach.
- Demonstrated expertise in providing support to communities.
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental or impact assessment, or in a specific related area.
- Alignment with program priorities and announced funding criteria.
How to apply
- Step 1: Review program requirements

- Step 2: Prepare the submission
- Draft an expression of interest or proposal describing the organization, initiative, objectives, activities, outputs, timeline, and budget.
- Include evidence of community or member support where required.
- Step 3: Send the application
- Email the expression of interest to iaac.ip-pa.aeic@canada.ca in Word or PDF format.
- For targeted processes under Stream 3, follow the application instructions provided directly by IAAC.
- Step 4: Develop full proposal if requested
- If invited by IAAC, work with program representatives to prepare a detailed proposal and budget.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed based on program criteria, priorities, and funding availability.
- For some streams, IAAC may contact applicants to clarify missing information or develop a more detailed proposal.
- IAAC usually communicates funding decisions within two months after the application deadline.
- Successful applicants receive a contribution agreement to sign.
- Reimbursement requires a detailed financial report with supporting invoices or receipts.
