Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Researchers, knowledge users, academics, or health professionals affiliated with a Canadian postsecondary institution or one of its affiliated hospitals, research institutes, or other non-profit organizations whose mandate covers health research or knowledge application.
- Undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral students participating in research or related activities.
- People affiliated with a Canadian Indigenous non-governmental organization whose mandate includes research or knowledge application.
- Researchers or academics employed by a municipal, provincial, or territorial administration when the activity covered by the submission is not funded through that administration's programs.
- Canadian or foreign non-governmental organizations, including community organizations or regional health authorities, with a mandate for research or knowledge application.
Selection criteria
- Relevance to IHDCYH priority areas.
- Likelihood of affecting human development or the health of children or youth.
- Fit with the contest category definitions and objectives.
- Weighted scoring based on peer review (90%) and public vote (10%).
How to apply
- Complete the online registration form.
- Submit the completed participation form.
- Provide a publicly accessible online link for the production in the form.
- Email the vignette requested in the form instructions.
Processing and Agreement
- Submissions are first assessed for relevance, and non-relevant productions are removed from the contest.
- Each production is then evaluated through peer review and a public vote, weighted 90% and 10% respectively.
- Within each category, funded submissions are selected in rank order, with the highest-scoring first.
- The names of funded candidates will be published on the CIHR website.
