Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Schools, universities, day-cares, group homes, and hospitals

Eligible expenses

  • Staff salaries and benefits
  • Volunteer honoraria and related expenses
  • Space rental, food, equipment rental, and transportation within Toronto
  • Project supplies, promotion, publicity, and purchased services
  • Training, evaluation, trustee costs, and limited administrative costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Projects or activities outside Toronto
  • Electronic equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and cameras
  • Ongoing multi-year program funding
  • Political and religious activities
  • Fundraising events, donations, debt repayment, deficit funding, and individual subsidies

  • Priority given to youth-led initiatives connected to FIFA World Cup 26™

How to apply

  • Step 1: Register or log in to TGRIP
    • Create a Toronto Grants, Rebates and Incentives Portal account if you do not already have one.
    • Update your organizational profile if any information has changed.
  • Step 2: Access the application
    • After registering and completing your organizational profile, log out and log back in.
    • Open the INI application under “My Funding Opportunities”.
  • Step 3: Complete the organization profile requirements
    • Youth-led grassroots groups and unincorporated non-profits should select “community group” when registering.
    • Select “resident led-group” when completing the organization profile.
    • If you do not have documents to upload, answer “Yes” to the resident-led group question and save to bypass the declaration step.
  • Step 4: Submit the application online
    • Complete and submit the application through the TGRIP portal.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission by the Grant Review Committee
  • Only eligible and shortlisted applications are considered for recommendations
  • Funding decisions are made after the review process
  • Successful recipients must complete reporting on activities, expenses, impact, and learnings
