  • Costs incurred before the Investment Agreement is signed
  • Over-market costs
  • Overhead, general training, and unrelated professional fees
  • Land or building acquisitions, taxes, fines, and interest
  • Projects or activities outside the approved project scope

  • Applications are reviewed after Intake Form submission.
  • Internal staff and external reviewers assess the application.
  • Selected applicants may be invited to submit a Detailed Proposal.
  • Funding decisions are made at Alberta Innovates’ sole discretion.
  • Approved applicants must sign an Investment Agreement before funding is released.
