Overview
This funding provides up to $10,000 CAD for initiatives aligned with peace and justice. It supports projects focused on systemic change, empowerment of marginalized communities, and certain educational initiatives promoting peace and justice.
Activities funded
- Projects designed to change systems to promote justice and peace more effectively
- Initiatives that empower poor and marginalized people, including their participation when feasible
- Projects originating from Basilian houses or institutions
- Projects with active involvement of individual Basilians
- Educational projects that actively involve participants in promoting peace and justice
Examples of admissible projects:

Eligibility
- The proposed program or project must be harmonious with a biblical vision of peace and justice.
- The project should be designed to change systems to promote justice and peace.
- The project should empower poor and marginalized people and, when feasible, involve them in planning and execution.
- The project should originate from Basilian houses or institutions and/or involve individual Basilians actively.
- Educational projects must actively involve participants in promoting peace and justice.

- Organizations with projects originating from Basilian houses or institutions
- Organizations whose projects involve individual Basilians
- Organizations leading peace and justice or human development initiatives aligned with the Fund’s vision
- Organizations delivering educational projects that actively promote peace and justice
Ineligible Costs and Activities
Selection criteria
- Alignment with a biblical vision of peace and justice
- Clear focus on systemic change to promote justice and peace
- Empowerment of poor and marginalized people, including involvement when feasible
- Origin from Basilian houses or institutions and/or active involvement of individual Basilians
How to apply
Step 1: Prepare application package
- Complete the application form
- Obtain a current letter of endorsement from a member of the Basilian Fathers
- Send the completed form and endorsement letter to the Curial Office, Congregation of St. Basil (Basilian Fathers)
- Submit by email to the program contact indicated on the application instructions
Processing and Agreement
- Applicants are informed of the funding decision by June 30.

- A portion of the Fund (up to 15% in any year) may be allocated to educational projects that actively promote peace and justice.
