Eligibility
- The applicant must work in housing.
- The project must be in Quebec.
- The project must involve new construction or renovation.
- The applicant must have the financial capacity to carry out the project.
- The applicant must have relevant real estate development experience.

- Legally constituted and registered persons, trusts, partnerships, or groups
- Recognized post-secondary educational institutions in Quebec
Who is not eligible
- Individuals
- Applicants registered in the RENA
- Public establishments, private conventioned establishments, and intermediate resources, unless they also operate a private seniors' residence
Eligible expenses
- Property acquisition and related costs
- Project development and planning expenses, including permits and financing interest
- Professional fees for studies, reports, design, and construction follow-up
- Construction costs and standard site preparation
- Standard furniture for common areas in eligible residential spaces
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Furniture or appliances for non-chamber units
- Dishware, utensils, kitchen accessories, bedding, cleaning, and maintenance products
- Housing adaptation works
- Water and sewer connection works to the land
- Costs linked to contractors registered in the RENA

How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the application
- Complete the prescribed application form.
- Gather the required supporting documents.
- Step 2: Submit to the SHQ
- Send the application and documents to the Société d'habitation du Québec.
- Applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis.
- Step 3: Review and selection
- The SHQ reviews the file and assesses the project.
- The applicant receives a written decision.
- Step 4: Finalize funding
- If selected, provide any additional information requested.
- Sign the funding agreement before the assistance is confirmed.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed as they are received.
- The applicant is informed in writing of the decision within 45 business days.
- Selected applicants receive a selection letter with any additional information needed to finalize the assessment.
- If approved, a financial assistance agreement must be signed before funding is confirmed.
- If not selected, the applicant receives a refusal letter.
