Home renovation rebate terms updated
A new official terms-and-conditions document is now visible for the Home Renovation Rebate Program and CleanBC Home Efficiency Rebates, effective for invoices dated on or after May 15, 2026. It adds detailed home, utility, contractor, and heating-system eligibility rules, including new invoice and support-document deadlines within six months of the invoice date. The rebate structure is now laid out with specific maximums and bonus rules, including $4,000 air-source heat pump rebates, $6,000 Northern air-source heat pump rebates, $6,000 ductless or central ducted heat pump rebates, $1,000 electric heat pump water heater rebates, and $300 two-upgrade bonuses. The prior May 1, 2025 terms reference on the main rebate detail page has been replaced with a May 15, 2026 terms link, and the old 2023 invoice cutoff for the home energy improvement bonus is no longer shown.

- Windows and doors replacements.
- Heat pump installations.
- Heat pump water heater installations.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Insulation for soundproofing or insulation in outbuildings.
- Skylights.
- Replacing an existing heat pump or adding a head to an existing heat pump.
- Emergency replacement of broken electrical systems.
- Upgrade costs covered by warranty or home insurance claims.
