Review eligibility
- Review the Granting Guidelines and application worksheet.
- Confirm that your organization and project meet the eligibility requirements.

Complete eligibility check
- Complete the online eligibility check at least two weeks before the deadline.
- Wait for Heritage BC staff to confirm whether you are eligible and issue a project number and access to the online application form.

Prepare application
- Prepare the full application using the online form and required supporting information.
- Include project details, budget, contractor quotes, supporting documents, and any required approvals.

Submit application
- Submit the full application by the posted application deadline.
- Applications are then intaken and processed by Heritage BC.

Await results
- Wait while applications are reviewed by independent assessment panels organized by stream.
- Heritage BC Board reviews and ratifies the recommendations before applicants are notified.
Processing and Agreement
- Grant recipients must sign a funding agreement.
- Funding agreements must be returned to Heritage BC within 30 days of notification.
- Final payments are released only after Heritage BC accepts the award report in the prescribed form.
- Grant recipients must submit a funding report after the work is completed, and Heritage BC may request an interim report at any time until the project is complete.
- Projects are not complete until Heritage BC accepts the funding report.
