  • Owners of small multi-unit residential buildings (maximum 3 storeys, up to 600 m² floor area)
  • Companies or organizations that own eligible residential buildings

Who is not eligible

  • Commercial or industrial companies (unless part of a mixed-use building, which must apply under a different program).
  • Owners of buildings with more than three storeys or a projected floor area exceeding 600 m².
  • Businesses with properties located in municipalities supplied by off-grid electricity systems.
  • Companies owning commercial or mixed-use buildings (eligible only under the ÉcoPerformance program, not Chauffez vert).

Eligible expenses

  • Purchase and installation costs of a new heating system powered by electricity or renewable energy sources, including heat pumps and electric boilers.
  • Complete removal and dismantling of the existing oil or propane central heating system and associated tanks.
  • Purchase and installation costs of a new water heater powered by electricity or renewable energy, if it is converted simultaneously with the main heating system.
  • Contractor services for the dismantling, removal, and installation work (must be performed by contractors holding the appropriate RBQ license).
