How to apply
- Step 1: Consult an audiologist
- Have your hearing loss evaluated with an audiogram.
- Obtain the attestation confirming the need for a hearing aid or assistive listening devices.
- Step 2: Obtain the device
- Go to a hearing aid acoustician with your audiogram and attestation to get a hearing aid.
- Go to an assistive listening devices distributor with your audiogram and attestation to get assistive listening devices.
Processing and Agreement
- The applicant must first consult an audiologist to obtain an audiogram and the required attestation.
- Adults under age 65 may also consult an ENT specialist for the audiogram and attestation.
- The applicant then consults a hearing aid acoustician or an assistive listening devices distributor to receive the device.
- RAMQ pays the providers for covered services.
Additional information
- A second covered hearing aid is possible with an audiologist’s recommendation.
- Applicants must use a specialist within 1 year after the documents are issued.
- There is a right to request a review of a RAMQ decision.
