Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Registered charities in Canada.

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals, including scholarship applicants.
  • Faith-based or faith-affiliated institutions.
  • Organizations with a pending IRS issue affecting tax-exempt status.
  • Organizations dedicated to the welfare of domesticated animals.
  • Pass-through organizations, endowments, community foundations, rotaries, and operating foundations.

Eligible expenses

  • Project costs for a discrete, stand-alone initiative.
  • Costs directly tied to the project scope and itemized project budget.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Operational support, including salaries, wages, consultants, contractors, or advisors.
  • Travel support, capital campaigns, sponsorships, conference or event support, and prizes.
  • Projects for individuals, including scholarships.
  • Advocacy activities.
  • Grants to faith-based institutions, pass-through organizations, endowments, community foundations, rotaries, operating foundations, and organizations dedicated to domesticated animals.
