Eligibility

Who is eligible?

Eligible expenses

  • Project establishment and implementation costs, including labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Annual incentive payments for eligible land enrolled in the program.
  • Project maintenance costs included in landowner agreements.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Water retention projects designed to consolidate wetlands.
  • Irrigation infrastructure, dugout construction, and drainage excavation or tile installation.
  • Class 3, 4, or 5 wetland conservation.
  • Farm equipment used for conventional practices, including conservation and zero tillage equipment.
  • Tree species intended for harvesting for economic benefit, ornamental tree purchases, and invasive or highly disease-vulnerable species.
